D-001 // GENESIS Pack

I was looking for a sling bag that didn't look like your typical tactical "EDC-fragile-masculinity" sling. Being a guy, I also didn't want a sling/waist-pack that looked to feminine or too much like a purse. I stumbled upon this one and I was intrigued. I scoured their website, as well as looked for reviews or anything on youtube. I couldn't find anything, so reached out via email and the owner responded. I took a chance and am happy with the bag. I also purchased the clutch loop and additional pouch.
That said, there are some things I like/dislike. Let's start with the pros.
1. Love the design. Love that it doesn't look like I've got military envy with a ton of molle loops.
2. Like the sleek, black design, with minimal branding.
3. Size is *almost perfect (more on that later)
4. Bag is very comfortable.
5. The additional pouch purchase was a good add. I like the way it attaches, and you're not married to it if you decide to remove it later, depending on use.
6. I didn't even realize the inside lit up! This is a nice feature I didn't realize I wanted in a bag or sling! The inside colors is already high vis and contrasts nicely so you can find what you need. The LED lighting is just *chef's kiss*

The cons:
1. Still looks closer to a glorified purse. It's not so feminine that I'm embarrassed to carry it. Great for urban exploring.
2. I'll have to see if it will hold up. It seems durable, but if I'm using this for hiking and carrying either a water bottle or umbrella, we'll see how well the seams hold up under weight.
3. I mentioned size above. I'd love just a touch more room. And maybe some slightly better organization pockets inside. It's fairly minimal, which is a nice aesthetic too, but the organizer in me wants just a touch more.
4. I don't mind the teal interior, but I'd love other options. I'm a sucker for orange.

I really like the idea of the bag. The material and quality is great. The integrated lights are an awesome feature. A few things I’d like to see improved: the “flap” closure is in my way. I can’t get it to stay over my shoulder or up when trying to access the bag. Maybe it’s too stiff of a material. Maybe a magnet to hold it open to the strap. Maybe if it was smaller and not so in the way or if it was larger/longer where there was enough material to sling over my shoulder and it would stay as I’m trying to get into the bag. Second issue is more my preference, I don’t think the bag opens large enough. I would like the zipper to go a little further or maybe again with a material that wasn’t so ridged it would give a little wider access. Overall I things it’s a great concept and I will still continue to use it. I like the idea of the flat to protect from people getting into it on your back but it’s very inconvenient for me. If I’m being knit picky, my other thoughts would say the strap (where the zippered cover is) is unnecessary and can kind of be in the way also being a bigger dude I like the bag to sit really tight when it’s on my back if I’m like walking or something like that, however it does not give me enough room to swing it around, so I kind of like having the strap available for available for adjustment as I want to loosen it swing it around use it
And then swing it back to my back and tighten the strap again if that makes sense. Basically impossible with a zippered cover on it. That’s not really a drawback I could deal with that. I can adjust it kind of in the midpoint that works for me. Lastly, I would like if there were more organizer pockets inside other than just the one large zipper pocket personally I like pen pockets and maybe a small zipper pocket like a mesh pocket that you could keep small things in maybe when incorporating one or more pockets on the outside as well would be nice or maybe some like bungee cording to attach small items would be nice too. And my last critique would be the phone pocket. I understand the size works if you have like a small phone case or no phone case the problem is in today’s world. Everyone has the iPhone Max Pro, the largest phones or you know large Samsung phones., and withhow expensive they are especially for someone who is commuting or working a hands-on job like me as a mechanic I like to keep my phone very protected and I use a pelican case andand in the past, I’ve used OtterBox cases. These had quite a bit of bulk, but I would say only in millimeters thicker than the phone itself and I cannot get my phone in the pocket with the case on. I’m not about to sacrifice the safety of my phone for the use of your phone pocket which which in turn makes the pocket obsolete for me. There’s not much else that it would be good for you know, turning it upside down other than a large wide item that would be stopped from the Velcro so I think an adjustment there would be nice.

Overall, I do love the bag. I think it’s a great idea and it’s a great design. The looks of it are nice. It’s not too feminine or looking in a way of I feel weird or uncomfortable using it or it’s too purse like. I do like the look of the bag very much.. The size is pretty good It’s kind of the perfect in between which is exactly what I’m looking for versus some bags being way too big or way too small. It’s kind of a pretty good size. Maybe a tiny bit thicker but I’m pretty happy with it.

Its a great bag i cant wait to travel with it. It is very well thought out for a sling bag. The internal light is by far the coolest feature

I'm loving the Genesis so much, I run around town a lot. I'm older and take public transportation a lot. We now get to use our own shopping bags, and the Genesis sling holds all my items and 3 reusable shopping bags too. One never knows when you are going to buy something you need. Honestly it is worth every nickel.

What an innovative bag! This is exactly what I was looking for. The quality is super well built and wonderful craftsmanship. Also, the communication was excellent; she answered all my questions! You absolutely can’t go wrong with this bag 10/10

This bag has truly been a game changer for me. I’ve used it several times since receiving it as a top-tier Christmas gift, and I’m beyond impressed. The quality is outstanding—it feels incredibly high-end, from the materials to the overall design.

Awesome bag, was able to hold all the necessary rave supplies, and even an entire pashmina, when it got too warm to wear one inside. The light is super convenient to be able to get what you need quickly without having to shine your phone flash light.

The quality of this bag absolutely blew me away. I am not a “just for looks” kind of purse girl. This bag not only has a super slick look but it’s functional as hell. The placements of each zipper is genius, the internal lighting system is so easy to easy and light weight. It has the perfect amount of pockets in all the right places for any item you might need to pack whether that’s just running around town, flying for vacation, or dancing at a festival. I originally bought it for festivals but it’s swiftly just become my every day go to bag. The firm fix against the body makes it so easy to move and get things done. I love the loop system along the strap that lets me accessorize or simply clip my water bottle when I’m on the go (I never leave the house without hydration). The bag came with a super slick and easy to roll up water bottle,a few clips for attachments, and even a few bonus goodies on the inside I wasn’t expecting. The bag arrived in a super slick transport bag & just the care in package assembly itself had me say WOW outloud as I opened my box. I’ve bought a lot of things online over there years, but I haven’t seen presentation this clean yet. I can attest the bag IS waterproof when I accidentally dumped my coffee all over my bag and myself in the car one day. My outfit was messed up but the bag stayed untouched & everything inside totally fine. 10/10 for performance and functionality. Theres definitely Jo way someone can steal from my bag. The system is seriously genius with beautiful stitching all around. Zippers are top quality and don’t catch in the slightest. Now I’m not usually one to leave reviews or rave about something, but seriously gawtdamn this is a flawless bag. I’ve gotten a compliment every time I’ve worn it out. Definitely going to be telling anyone who asks where to pick one up.

I usually dont like wearing a bag because of my lower back but it didn't hurt at all after hours of use. It was very convenient while being on the move and the light inside was a bonus!
